Öttl started from pole position in Race 2 thanks to a time of 1'53.117 set in Saturday's race. However, he immediately lost two positions at the first corner and slipped to fourth place on the second lap. He wasn't discouraged and, with two splendid overtaking moves on the following lap, quickly climbed back to second place.
In the middle of the race, he managed to temporarily take the lead, but was quickly overtaken and dropped back to third. Philipp remained glued to the front until the checkered flag, but lost another position and slipped to fourth.
In the final stages he tried in every way to conquer the podium, but was unable to complete the decisive overtaking move and finished the final race of the Spanish round in the same position as the previous day.
Philipp Öttl (#65):
“We finished Race 2 with another fourth place today. I'm a little disappointed because we were fighting for the win, for the podium: we finished just half a second behind the winner. I'm a little disappointed, but we had a great weekend. Thanks to the team, it was great to work together and we can't wait for Estoril”.
