At the Aragón circuit, the lights went out at 4:00 PM, marking the start of Race 1 of the Supersport class. Philipp Öttl got off to a brilliant start, immediately moving up to fifth place. At Turn 14, he went slightly wide and slipped to sixth place, but was able to immediately recover. On the third lap, he made a decisive pass that vaulted him into fourth place.
In the middle of the race, he maintained a steady and competitive pace, closing in on the leading group but failing to find the space to launch a decisive attack. Öttl thus concluded the first race of the tenth round of the season with an excellent fourth place.
Thanks to the best lap of the race, recorded on the fourth lap, the German driver will start from pole position in Sunday's race.
Philipp Öttl (#65):
“Race 1 is over. We finished P4 and set the fastest lap of the race, so we'll start from pole tomorrow, which is fantastic. I'm really happy with the bike today and hope we can improve some details in warm-up to have another strong race”.
