Balaton - Sabato

Round Balaton - Saturday

The penalty given to a rider who had positioned himself ahead of him in the previous day's Superpole meant that Öttl started race 1 from 12th on the grid.

The German driver got off to a great start and immediately gained four positions. On the third lap, with a nice pass, he moved up to seventh place, but was overtaken on the same lap. Philipp managed to reclaim the position shortly thereafter, but with seven laps to go, he dropped two positions and finished Saturday's race at Balaton Park Circuit in ninth place.
See you tomorrow for the third and final day of action on the Hungarian circuit.

Philipp Öttl (#65):
“We finished Race 1 in ninth place. It was a really tough race. I got a great start and quickly climbed up to seventh, but then I had to push hard to close the gap. I had some trouble with the front end of the bike and had to cut the chicane twice, which meant giving back the advantage I'd gained and also losing an extra second. This made everything even more complicated. Towards the end, I had to give the others a bit of space, but I think we really gave it our all today. Now we'll focus on tomorrow, with the goal of having a good race”.
