Contact from another rider cuts Öttl out of the first race of the Misano weekend. The German rider will, however, start from sixth position in Race 2.

"First of all, I'm really disappointed because I think we could have achieved a great result today. It was another rider's mistake, and that put us out of the race.

I'm still happy that I managed to set the sixth fastest lap time in the race, because that was really important, especially with tomorrow in mind. The team did a fantastic job of repairing the bike quickly: it was like new.

I tried to stay calm and push as hard as possible to get a good lap time, so I could start in the top six tomorrow. That's a positive, but I really believe that a podium was within our grasp today, and that's why I'm very disappointed."
